This is a slightly creepy but pretty cool website for lighting a portrait in the studio.   http://www.zvork.fr/vls/

Photo Analysis

To start off this post of analyzing different photos, I wanted to state that these photos all came from this website:  http://www.incrediblesnaps.com/adventure-photography

This photo includes an interesting design that pulls you into the bright spot in the lower left quarter of the photo.  To give this photo the feeling of its vast size, the person is positioned in the lower right hand side clothed in red and other bright colors to bring him attention.  He is also looking into the bright light which we are already drawn to.  From an advertising point of view, it shows him using ice picks, but it also leaves plenty of room for text to be added through most of the frame.

This photo leaves a lot of space for the advertising to add text and logos.  The person is silhouetted, but is clearly noticed in the scene.   The V-shape formed by the cliff side and far off mountain help to draw the attention to the person.
There is also ample space in this photo that allows for text to be added to the right hand side of the frame.  The orange that the man is wearing allows for him to stand out in the frame.
This photo does not have much color added to it, but the contrast in skin color compared to the rock, as well as the shape of the person allows for him to be noticed.  The shadows on his body show the intensity of the climb.  There is plenty of space on the left side of the frame for text.
This photo shows a skier with some colors that stand out, but for the most part dont.  There is not a ton of free space since the skier is almost in the middle of the frame.  The lines in the photo are what make it work though.  The lines of the skis and the poles form a cross which direct you to the skier.  The background is also very simple, which allows the focus to be on the skier in this unique angle.  Showing just enough of the foreground helps to give a setting to the photo.

World Photography

I am always looking for new ideas on how I should document my upcoming travel adventures, as I feel that I have not done a great job thus far.  This is a really cool website.  It might not have the best photography, but it shows what each country is like and inspires me to do the same.  http://www.streetsoftheworld.com/countries

Time Lapse

I found this company T-Recs.  They have some very interesting timelapse videos.  Some which involve a lot of movement.   They have a lot of behind the scenes footage to see what they use, but I still cant figure out how they do really long moves, unless it was built on a track or wire.

Venus and Jupiter Collide?

Im trying to think of how to make an interesting shoot out of this.  I wont be able to shoot Thursday night, but it could be fun to shoot maybe friday.  Need to look at the moon charts though and see if there is an actual time that would work here.
